Christmas is the time of carols,
which is beautiful,
but if it is for a good cause, then it is GREAT!!!

Last Sunday, on 19th December,
Jean O’ Kane, Carmel Flynn and Mariola Vera,
sisters of Achill Road community,
participated together with  Corpus Christi Church choir in a special event.

Carmel Flynn rscj & Jean O'Kane rscj collecting

The main reason was to collect money
on behalf of poor people.
The money was committed to Society of St Vincent de Paul.

We sang carols for two hours in a popular shopping-centre.
There were a lot of people, who walked with their families or alone.
Perhaps they were doing the shopping for these days.

At Santa's Hut

It was touching to
contemplate children’s face
when they deposited their coins.
It was an image of

We are very happy and
pleased because in this short time
we collected €1050.92.
Thanks to everyone for their generosity.

Nowadays, we are suffering a hard crisis,
which is affecting many families and individuals
- those who have lost their jobs and perhaps, their hope also.
We can see in the streets a sad reality,
a lot of homeless people or people are asking help.

Getting dressed for the occasion

Therefore, if this little gesture can help them,

it will be our best gift for this Christmas.
Maybe the reality of these beautiful words of the song:
Heal the World make it a better place,
for you and for me and the entire human race.
There are people dying if you care enough for the living,
make a better place for you and for me

Maybe together we will build this better place for everyone.

Merry Christmas and a new year full of hope and joy!
